8/30/09 Jesus Tells the Future! Luke 21:5-37
Pastor Paul M. Reinhard

Welcome: Are you ready for the Fall? What changes will it bring to your life?

Worship: Be creative in opening your hearts to God! Take time for a song, poem, video clip, story, or testimony! Spend some moments in prayer. Invite the Holy Spirit to meet with you as your teacher, friend, encourager, and the giver of great gifts!

Witness: Take time in your Life Group to pray for the people in your OIKOS. Ask God to bless them. Ask God to open an opportunity for you to share the ABC’s and serve them. Fervent prayer and diligent service will open amazing spiritual doors.

Word: This past Sunday we looked at the teachings of Jesus in Luke 21:5-37. Jesus spoke about the destruction of Jerusalem that was only a generation away. He also spoke about the end of the age. [Or, the end of time.]

4. What did Jesus focus on in these verses?

5. What picture, or theme, do the above scriptures paint for you?
Did Jesus seem more interested in us knowing when He would return,
or on what we should be doing while we wait for Him to come back?

Close in a time of prayer for yourselves and our church. Praise God for the vote of confidence our Movement has shown in us through their $25,000 gift!

Personal Time with God in the Listening Room:
Reflect and meditate on 2 Timothy 4:5-8.

But you should keep a clear mind in every situation.
Don’t be afraid of suffering for the Lord. Work at telling others the
Good News, and fully carry out the ministry God has given you.

As for me, my life has already been poured out as an offering to God.
The time of my death is near. I have fought the good fight,
I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

And now the prize awaits me—the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of his return. And the prize
is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to his appearing
