Word: Simon Peter is an awesome man with an awesome story. He began as a fisherman and ended up an Apostle. At one point Peter was a fleshly failure. When Jesus was finished with him, he was an awesome spirit filled leader. Praise God that we are on a journey with Jesus that will not end until we see Him in eternity! He is at work in us and He will never quit!

1. Is there an exciting area of your life that is growing, changing, or happening?

2. How has your Christian walk been growing or changing lately?

3. Read Luke 22:54-62.

A. Why do you think Peter denied Jesus?

B. Describe how Peter felt when Jesus looked at him!

4. Have you ever been keenly aware of God’s love, forgiveness, and restoration?
What did it feel like?
What did God do for you?

5. Think about the way Jesus treated Simon Peter. If Jesus is our model then how should we treat people who have failed? What should our attitude be?

6. Read Psalm 40:1-3 aloud together. How do these verses speak into your life?

I waited patiently for the Lord to help me,
and he turned to me and heard my cry.
He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire.
He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along.
He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God.
Many will see what he has done and be amazed.
They will put their trust in the Lord.
