At the Home of Cornelius Acts 10 Pastor Paul M. Reinhard 10/04/09

WELCOME: What is your favorite kind of candy?

WORSHIP: Open your hearts to God with singing, prayer, or a poem. Be open and creative as you meet Him. Thank the Holy Spirit for meeting with you and be sensitive to His presence in your midst.

WORD: We can see the Spirit of God moving powerfully in the book of Acts. People were ready to meet God. God's people were open to sharing the Good News. The results were amazing. Entire households came to Christ and experienced the joy of salvation and baptism. The same thing is happening around the world today.

1. Can you think of something that has changed since you were a child?
How is it different? How do you feel about the change?

2. Simon Peter was a Jew. He lived under very strict food laws. Read Acts 10:9-21.
What do you think Peter was thinking after this vision? How do you think he was feeling?

3. How would you have reacted if you were Peter? How does his vision challenge you in meeting new and different people?

4. Read Acts 10:28-29 and 2 Peter 3:9. What do these verses tells us about God's attitude toward people? Do we have God's attitude?

WITNESS: How can the following formula be worked out in your Life Group?

Earnest Seeker + Ready Believer + The Word + The Holy Spirit = Salvation & Baptisms!

Remember:
Often times we think evangelism is the job of spiritual Super Christians! We underestimate what God can do through each and every Christian when we gather together in community and connect with our OIKOS! Remember, it is not what you do ... it is what God would like to do through you!

CLOSE WITH PRAYER: These past weeks I have been deeply moved by the challenges faced by members of our Fellowship! People are wrestling with marriages, children, health, and fmances! These things can put a tremendous drain on our emotional reserves, and our faith. Take some time to pray for the people in your life group. Pray also for those in your OIKOS who need a touch from the Lord!
