Acts 18 People and Places
October 25, 2009

Welcome: When you were a child, whose house in the neighborhood did you like to play at, and why?

Worship: We are here to meet with God and one another. Spend some time entering the Fathers presence. Sing some songs. Read a Psalm. Playa song or a video on the TV or stereo. Open in prayer. Thank the Lord for being in you, and with you! Expect the Holy Spirit to move in your midst! He is with you!

Word: This week we took a quick look at some of the different places the gospel went in the Book of Acts. We also looked at a few of the different people who connected in the Book of Acts. Today in our Life Group, we are going to do some thinking about how the Gospel spreads!

1.Have you been watching the news about the H1N1 virus? How is this swine Flu spreading?

2.Think about Sundays Sermon ... how was the spread of the gospel in the Book of Acts like the swine flu?

3.What can we learn from this comparison?

4.Let's look at this fellow named Apollos. We don't know much about him, but
What we do know is very fascinating.

A.Read Acts 18:24-28. What important action is taking place in this passage?

B.Now go backwards in the story and read Acts 18:1-4. Do some imagining here.

5.Do some imagining. How can your life look more the New Testament story of people and places? What do you think happened in the Paul to Aquila-Priscilla to Apollos progression?

Witness: As you think about our call to share the gospel, consider Ananias in Acts 9:1O. This brother only shows up in one New Testament story. He is the godly disciple who shares Christ with Saul, who is soon to become the Apostle Paul. We know all about Paul, and the amazing ministry God has given him. But what about this man who went in spite of his fear and in obedience to pray with Saul and share Christ? When we obey God and take our place in the unbroken chain of Christian witness ... there is no telling what God will do!
